"Turn on your heart light. Let it shine wherever you go. Let it make a happy glow for all the world to see."
It's been a while since I've written and the short recap is: I spent the summer with Owen and Mike, we traveled a few times to Vermont to look at houses (to move) and we've decided to stay right where we are. The back and forth was crazy-making but I noticed as we made these trips, the less I was focused on an outcome, the better I felt. The more ease and peace I felt inside.
Collectively, we are in a time where wildfires, hurricanes and earthquakes are raging. The problems we face as a culture are not just happening in the macrocosm but in the microcosm, within each of us. At this time, I feel I'm being challenged to find what disconnects me from myself, those I love, my community and the world. As I listen within and ask my heart what I need, giving myself my own love, I feel more whole and centered.
What does your heart want today?
How can you prioritize your inner-peace now?
What if the one change we make inside ourselves is the one that contributes to greater peace in our world?
We all have responsibilities, commitments, appointments, shopping to do, conversations to have, families to love, meals to cook, partners to connect with, friends and jobs. There's so much asking for our attention in the outside world. How much time do we spend nurturing our inner world, our soul? The soul speaks in a small, quiet voice. A whisper. As opposed to the outside world, whose voice sometimes feels like it's raging at us like a hurricane, one that we can't ignore. When we are unwilling to close the door to the outside world, even for a short time, we run the risk of being completely swallowed by the hurricane. We can be in the hurricane of life and be the eye of the storm. In the eye there is calm. I want to be in the center as opposed to the periphery. On the periphery we are tossed about, thrashed and thrown. The center is where we can find peace in our hearts.
From my heart to yours,
